Installation of Omid Multi-Channel Encoder at Dena TV Station

Introduction to one of our insite projects

Dena TV - Multi-channel encoding project

In the world of television broadcasting, signal quality is not optional. It is a standard that every station must uphold. When a TV network struggles with outdated or incomplete encoding infrastructure, the consequences reach every viewer at home. Dena TV station, a regional broadcaster operating in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, faced exactly this challenge. Omid Technologies stepped in with a clear mission: restore stability, upgrade performance, and ensure uninterrupted HD broadcasting through the installation of the Omid Multi-Channel Encoder.

This blog takes you behind the scenes of a real project. You will learn about the technical obstacles Dena TV encountered in its broadcast center. You will also discover how the Omid Technologies engineering team responded to their challenges. Whether you are a broadcast engineer, a station manager or simply curious about professional encoding solutions, this case study offers valuable insight into what modern TV infrastructure demands and how the right partner makes all the difference.

The Challenge at Dena TV Broadcast Center

Dena TV Network required a significant upgrade to its broadcast infrastructure. The station had ordered a 4-channel Omid encoder to strengthen its transmission capabilities. However, the main encoder was not yet ready for delivery. This created an urgent problem. The station needed to begin broadcasting without delay and operating without a functional encoding system was simply not an option. For a regional TV network, even a brief interruption in broadcast can damage credibility and audience trust.

Beyond the delivery timeline, the on-site conditions presented serious technical concerns. The HD rack at the facility was completely empty upon arrival. Cabling was incomplete and improperly configured. Two Remux devices were present but had not been set up correctly. Additionally, the center lacked a professional decoder  a critical component for verifying signal output and maintaining suitable broadcast standards. Each of these issues compounded the risk of a failed or unstable launch. The station was facing multiple infrastructure gaps at the same time.

Professional Encoding Solution

How Omid Technologies Solved It

Deploying a Temporary Encoder for Immediate Broadcasting:

The first priority was ensuring Dena TV Network did not go off-air. Omid Technologies prepared a single-channel loan encoder and dispatched a technical team to the facility without delay. This interim solution allowed the station to begin broadcasting while the permanent Multi-channel encoder was being finalized. Acting quickly under pressure is a core part of how Omid Technologies operates. Keeping a broadcaster on-air is always the immediate goal.

Preparing the Infrastructure from the Ground Up:

Upon arrival, the team found the HD rack completely empty and the cabling unfinished. The engineers began by fully preparing the racks and completing all necessary wiring. Once the physical infrastructure was ready, two encoders were installed. The first was the station’s existing encoder, which received a full software update and upgrade. The second was the Omid loan encoder brought by the team. Both Remux devices were then configured and updated by our technical team. Every component was brought up to a functional and stable standard.

Testing, Verification, for a Long Term Encoding Solution:

With all hardware in place, the team modulated the encoder output using a modulator. The signal was then tested directly on a television screen to confirm accurate performance. For the missing professional decoder, Omid Technologies provided a specialist solution tailored to the center’s needs. Since that visit, Dena TV Network has been encoding consistently in HD. The new Multi-Channel  encoder is featuring BISS-CA encryption, provided at no extra cost. Omid Technologies will return to complete its full installation shortly.

Dena TV - Installition

What This Project Tells Us About Modern Broadcasting

The installation of Omid Multi-Channel Encoder at Dena TV Network showcases how Omid Technologies tackles real broadcast challenges with speed and expertise. Facing empty racks, incomplete cabling, missing decoders, and an urgent need to go on-air, our team deployed a loan encoder immediately, rebuilt the infrastructure from scratch, configured all devices, and verified signal quality through live testing. The result was a stable, HD-quality broadcast system with a permanent Multi-Channel encoder featuring BISS-CA encryption on the way. This project proves that maintaining suitable broadcast standards requires the right partner, the right equipment, and the technical commitment to deliver both.
